FTP Service

What Our Clients Say
Since the mid 1990's we have engaged the services of Discoveries Unlimited for various types of hearings in Newfoundland and Labrador with both the Federal Court and the Tax Court of Canada.

I have had significant amount of experience with the services of Discoveries Unlimited in my role as Consumer Advocate in proceedings before the Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities since my appointment in 2004, culminating most recently with the Newfoundland Power General Rate Application hearing. The Board of Commissioners generally sits for hearings from 9:00 a.m.

FTP, or rather File Transfer Protocol, allows you to send documents that are to sensitive too send via email or are simply to large. Anything above 5 megs should be FTP-ed.

Built into Microsoft Windows is the ability to FTP using "Windows Explorer". Please take the following steps:

1) First open up Windows Explorer. There are many ways to open it:
  • Windows Key + E
  • Right Click on My Computer -> Explore
  • Right Click on Start -> Explore
  • Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Windows Explorer
2) In the "Address" bar, type in ftp.discoveriesunlimited.ca

3) You will be prompted to provide a user name and password. Please use the one listed below.

If Windows does not prompt you for a login or says permissions denied you maybe have to right click in the blank righthand area of explorer and click Login As and enter the login information below.

4) From here, you can drag-n-drop files and folders over to the server (now open in your Explorer window) from anywhere on your computer (a CD/DVD disc, My Documents, etc.)

5) Once the file copy is complete, you can simply close the window.

If you are familiar with FTP, you can use your favorite FTP program. If you do not have an FTP program there are many available on sites such as download.com.
